Beautiful Summer Wedding at Hampton Court House

I know peak wedding season is yet to be over, but I've been looking back on the season and taking in all the loveliness so far. This beautiful wedding took place in Surrey, starting with a wedding ceremony at St Raphael's Church in Kingston upon Thames and then heading over the bridge to the stunning Hampton Court House. What a lovely couple they were to work with too - the relationship that gets built up in the time leading up to the wedding is so special. The more I connect with t...  Read More...

Romantic Buttercream Cake for a Beautiful Wedding at Buxted Park Hotel in Sussex

I've been making wedding cakes for a while now and each cake is so special. As I learn more about the couple, the cake becomes part of their story - it reflects their love and their emotion. This is why I adore making wedding cakes, because it's more than just a tower of foodstuff - it's integral to the whole romantic tale of the couple, and cutting the cake is one of the first things the couple will do together after being united in marriage.   Read More...

Fine Art Wedding Retreat at Boconnoc, Cornwall

For me, as a wedding cake maker and designer, I feel it's really important to seek out new things that will provide inspiration. I want to keep feeling a passion for the cakes I design and I want those designs to come about organically - to be inspired by things I see in nature, in architecture, in art. But I also find it comes from connecting with other people in the industry and sharing creative ideas.   Read More...

Buttercream Cake for a Hampton Court House Summer Wedding

A simple, yet oh so elegant theme for this summer wedding at Hampton Court House. A gentle woodland feel was carried through the house starting with herbs in pretty jars on the steps up to the entrance of the house, continuing with the stunning floral arrangements in the grand hall and the table centrepieces in the dining room as well as foliage arches around the doorways. The house was brimming with luscious green foliage as well as white heady, summery blooms.   Read More...

Romantic Buttercream Wedding Cake at Bury Court Barn

On a gloriously sunny day in the month of May, I travelled down to a rural setting in the Hampshire countryside for a wedding at Bury Court Barn – a beautiful and romantic wedding venue with its lofty oak beams, twinkling fairy lights and the prettiest walled garden. My lovely bride and groom had requested a five tier buttercream cake that would take centre stage in the main barn. I knew everything about this wedding would be incredibly romantic, so to add an extra special touch, I de...  Read More...

Food Styling Shoot Guest Blog by Marion Wotton Photography

I love baking. Many of us do - goodness but The Great British Bake Off wouldn’t be a raging success if we didn’t! But I must admit that while I enjoy baking, I simply don’t possess that flair, that certain … je ne sais quoi that turns a cupcake into a work of art. It’s fortunate, then, that there are people who cannot only bake a delicious cake, but also create a showstopper!   Read More...
